1KF 2020 - 2021

Miss Finlan

Welcome RAH to 1KF, I would just like to congratulate you all on the fantastic start to the year that you have made - both myself and Mrs Burke have really enjoyed meeting you all and I know that we are going to have a fantastic year together! I will be teaching you all from home for the next 2 weeks until it is safe for us to be back together again in school on Monday 21st September. I know you might be nervous but I can assure you that we have everything in place to keep you safe and happy.

Each morning, please enter the school grounds with one adult and wait on the KS1 playground. Each Year 1 class has a separate line and we will come out to collect you at 8:45am. We will check your temperature on the way in just to keep everybody safe and well - your adult will need to stay until this has been done before you come into the classroom.

  • You only need to bring a packed lunch if you are not on school dinners, please make sure this is named.
  • Children will be getting fruit for their breaktime snack.
  • Everyone must bring a bottle of water each day at the moment to avoid the risk of cross-contamination - I can write their names on if necessary. We are more than happy to fill your bottle up throughout the day and it will go home at the end of the day to be cleaned and refilled for the following day.
  • Your PE day will be Wednesday as long as the weather permits - we are asking that you come into school wearing your outdoor kit as we will be outside for these lessons. You will need to wear this kit all day to avoid getting changed in school so please make sure you are warm enough.
  • Please read our knowledge organisers to find out about all the exciting things you will be learning this term.
  • Reading: you must read for at least 10 minutes a day. We will not be sending reading books at the moment, please use reading eggs and any books you already have.
  • Golden Time is on a Friday afternoon and I know how excited 1KF are for it, at the moment we are asking that children don't bring in a toy from home. Don't worry, we will still have lots of fun!

I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 21st September. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
