2RO 2020 - 2021

Miss Ockerby

Welcome to 2RO,

I hope you have all enjoyed your first few days of Year 2 and enjoyed being back together with your friends. It’s been lovely getting to know you all and teaching you.

Water Bottles- Please can all children bring their own water bottle to school each day, already filled up at home. The children can leave them under their desk and it can be refilled by an adult if needed.

Reading books - We are currently in the process of assessing the children's reading levels and will give books out ASAP. Children all have access to Reading Eggs and are encouraged to use the app as much as possible from home.

Homework – We will give homework out on Fridays to be returned by the following Thursday. Children will be given spellings, maths and literacy to complete alongside their regular reading. The tasks we send home link to learning that the children have done in school that week.

Snacks – The children are allowed a healthy snack (fruit/ vegetable) at playtime which is provided by school. If preferred, your child can bring in their own playtime snack but this must be a healthy one (no chocolate bars, crisps, sweet etc).

PE – This will be every Tuesday, weather permitting.  We are asking children to come to school dressed in their PE kit which they will stay in for the whole day. We suggest leggings or tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, sweatshirt/ hoodie and trainers (no football kits are allowed).

Please be aware- We have children in 2RO who have an allergy to nuts. Please do not send your child to school with any food products/ creams / lip balms etc which may contain nuts. Thank you for your understanding and support.

I have attached the newsletter for this half term below and sent home all the knowledge organisers for each topic for you to read and share. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask at the end of the day (personally or by phone) or write a note.

I'm really excited to spend this year with you all, watching you grow and develop.  I hope we all have a wonderful time.
