6AC 2021 - 2022

Mrs Campbell

Mrs Ackerley

Welcome back everyone!

We are very excited to see you all next week and to get started on our year 6 adventure.  We know that you will all be feeling a mixture of emotions about returnign to school.  Some of you will be excited and some of you will be a little bit nervous.  However you are feeling, we want you to know that we will be there if you need someone to talk to and that we will try to make sure that you have a fantastic day back at school and a wonderful last year of primary.

On Monday, please come to the green gates outside our classroom (the ones near the gate to the park).  A member of the year 6 team will be there to greet you all and help you find the correct classroom.  Once you are settled inside, we will go through everything that you need to know and answer any questions.

PE

You need to come to school in your uniform for your first day but after this week, you will come to school on a Monday wearing your PE kit.  PE will be every Monday and you need to make sure that you are wearing your PE kit and suitable footwear.  Please do not wear any football shirts.

Outdoor learning

On Fridays, starting next week, you need to come to school in clothes that are suitable for outdoor learning.  These should be layers and suitable for the weather.  Please do not wear clothes that you are not happy to get wet/muddy as we do often go into the woods for our outdoor learning and it does like to rain a little bit in Manchester.

Homework

In year 6, it is really important that we send homework home that will consolidate your learning.  Homework is given out on a Wednesday and needs to return to school the following Monday.  Spellings are given out on a Friday and you have until the next Friday to learn those spellings for your test.  If you are finding the homework or spellings difficult, then please make sure that you speak to us and ask for help.

Reading

It is really important that you read for at least 10 minutes every day.  We ask that you keep a record of your reading in your school planner and will explain this to you in class.

Please see below for some more information about this half term and we are looking forward to seeing you all very soon.

Enjoy your last few days of holiday!

Mrs Campbell and Mrs Ackerley.
