Little Acorn Room 2021 - 2022

Miss McKenzie

Welcome to the Little Acorn page!

This term we will be learning all about the Jungle! we will incorporate this through all lessons and activities. In literacy we will explore this by reading lots of stories that help children understand what a jungle is and what animals live there! Some children will be learning to write sentences, sequencing pictures and then writing instructions. Our phonics lessons will now be part of the Read Write Inc curriculum. Some children will be focusing on enviromental sounds whilst others will be learning  new sounds and starting to blend words to read. In numeracy we will be continuing to teach children numbers from 1-20 or higher for some children. The children will be looking at shapes and patterns as well as learning to add numbers. For ICT the children will be able to access iPads in the classroom to which they can explore reading eggs and other educational apps.

Our PE lesson will be on Friday. Your child can come to school in their PE kit and we ask that they wear sustainable footwear.

We change book bags every Wednesday but we also ask you to bring them in every day.

Please provide your child with a water bottle for use throughout the day. May we remind you that snacks and drinks must be healthy as we are a healthy school.
