Covid Catch Up Grant
We will receive £45,000 to spend supporting children who may have fallen behind as they have had time away from school for isolation. When the children returned to school in September we were able to make an initial base-line assessment from which we will be able to track and monitor the progress that each child makes. We use Provision Map Writer to identify each intervention we put in place and monitor its effectiveness through analysing the progress made by each child. We also include emotional support for each child within the catch up programme because we want our learners to be safe within school and have the skills and resilience to excel in this ever changing world.
To date we have received £4685.00 Covid Support payment enabling us to make all the necessary changes and health and safety requirements in school (signage, installation of hand sanitiser stations, purchase of PPE, etc). From the £11,420.00 Catch Up Grant we have received so far we have used our money to pay for a teacher to continue with on-line learning for those children isolating. Pupils are able to access the learning that the class would be having with on-line sessions prepared and delivered by the teacher. We have updated classroom computers enabling online learning via Microsoft Teams. We have also spent the fund to pay for supplementary materials such as work books and paper and writing materials so that all pupils can engage with learning whilst at home. In addition in each year group we are providing weekly catch up clubs where children are receiving extra tuition to identify any gaps in their learning to ensure rapid catch up is made.
