Healthy Start Voucher/Card Scheme

Healthy Start Voucher/Card Scheme – Reapply by 31st March to continue to receive financial support.

Families with young children can benefit from regular payments towards their weekly shopping by applying to the NHS Healthy Start scheme. If you are currently receiving Healthy Start paper vouchers you must reapply at www.healthystart.nhs.uk by 31st March 2022 as the paper voucher scheme is coming to an end.

From April 2022, eligible families who have reregistered will receive a Healthy Start card that they will reuse instead of paper vouchers which will no longer be issued. If you do not reapply, you will not be sent any further Healthy Start Vouchers and you will not receive a Healthy Start card.

Healthy Start cards can be used to purchase fruit, vegetables, milk at participating shops, foodbanks and pantries. The Healthy Start card is accepted wherever you see the Mastercard sign displayed.

Please see the helpful fact sheet produced by The Bread and Butter Thing (attached below) which provides more details on the Healthy Start Card scheme including who is eligible, how to apply for one and how to use it.
