Geography
At Newall Green Primary School, we want Geography to open children’s eyes to the world and its people. We inspire curiosity about the places we live in, the environments that surround us and the diverse communities that make up our world.
Our Geography curriculum takes children on a journey from their local area to places across the globe. Through engaging topics, maps, fieldwork, educational visits and first-hand experiences, children develop a deeper understanding of both the physical world and the people who live in it. They learn to ask questions, make connections, investigate change and understand how places and environments are shaped over time.
Along the way, children develop important skills in problem-solving, teamwork, communication, self-management and self-belief. We also encourage them to think about their responsibility towards our planet and the role they can play in protecting it for future generations.
Most importantly, we want our children to become curious, knowledgeable and open-minded explorers, with a genuine fascination for the world around them and the confidence to discover what lies beyond it.
