Science
At Newall Green Primary School, we want our children to look at the world with wonder, curiosity and a desire to find out more. Science gives them the opportunity to ask questions, investigate ideas and discover how the world around them works.
Our Science curriculum is practical, engaging and designed to inspire children to think like scientists. Through hands-on investigations, careful observation, experimentation and discussion, children learn to explore, question, predict and use evidence to explain what they discover. From our beautiful school grounds and local environment to the wider world of biology, chemistry and physics, we make meaningful connections between scientific knowledge and everyday life.
As children progress through school, their knowledge and vocabulary build alongside their skills in problem-solving, teamwork, communication and self-belief. We encourage them to be curious, learn from what they observe and understand that asking a great question can be just as important as finding the answer.
Ultimately, we want our children to leave Newall Green Primary School as confident, knowledgeable and curious scientists, with the skills and enthusiasm to keep exploring the world long after they leave our school.
