- Please can you remeber to pre-order your child's dinner on parent pay. If you need any support, please contact the school office.

We do understand that some children struggle with foods, or have a diagnosis pertanining to this, so please make our staff aware and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
- Don't forget to clearly label any clothing/shoes with your child's name and class to prevent them getting mixed up or lost.
- Please provide your child with spare clothes and wellies if possible.
- If your child requires medication, please make staff aware and provide us with labelled and in date medicine/inhalers.
An Overview of the Foxes Class
Foxes Class is designed for pupils who are able to communicate their needs and ideas, listen to adults and peers, and engage in more structured learning throughout the day. While we are a SEN class, our pupils are more independent learners and are able to take part in longer lessons, alongside regular movement breaks and outdoor learning to support their wellbeing. Our day begins with a morning presentation, where pupils talk about how they are feeling, discuss the weather and share how their morning has been. This helps children build confidence in speaking, develop emotional awareness and settle positively into the school day. Throughout the day, we focus on English, phonics and maths, alongside a wide range of creative activities such as arts and crafts, making learning engaging, practical and fun. We also build in plenty of brain breaks, outdoor time and movement activities to support focus and regulation.
Communication and Interaction
In Foxes Class, communication is at the heart of everything we do. Pupils are encouraged to use spoken language to express their thoughts, feelings and needs, and to listen and respond to others appropriately.
We support communication through:
- Daily opportunities for speaking and listening, including morning presentations
- Adult modelling of language and sentence structures
- Visual supports and prompts where needed
- Structured discussions and turn-taking activities
Children are supported to build confidence in communicating with adults and peers, helping them develop positive relationships and independence.
Cognition and Learning
Foxes Class pupils take part in a broad and engaging curriculum tailored to their individual needs. We spend significant time working on:
- English and phonics, focusing on reading, writing and early literacy skills
- Maths, developing number sense, problem-solving and practical skills
Lessons are structured, clear and well-paced, with high expectations supported by appropriate scaffolding. Pupils are encouraged to focus, listen and take pride in their learning, while still enjoying a fun and creative classroom environment.
Social and Emotional
Supporting pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing is a key focus in Foxes Class. We help children to:
- Recognise and talk about their emotions
- Develop positive relationships with peers and adults
- Build confidence, resilience and independence
- Learn how to manage feelings and behaviour in a safe and supportive way
Regular check-ins, praise, and clear routines help pupils feel secure and ready to learn.
Sensory Needs
All pupils in Foxes Class have individual sensory needs, which we support throughout the school day. We provide:
- Regular movement and brain breaks
- Opportunities for outdoor learning and play
- Sensory resources and activities where appropriate
- A balance of structured learning and active time
These supports help pupils stay regulated, focused and ready to engage in their learning.
