Preparing for school: Giving up the dummy

Attached are some documents to help support families to enable their child to give up their dummy. As we are sure you are aware children who still have dummies after 12 months are more likely to have difficulties pronouncing speech sounds and/or words, which may impact their communication skills. They may also imapct the child in other ways such as affecting the way their teeth grow, causing ear infections, increasing the amount the child dribbles, affecting the child's swallowing, altering the shape of teh child's mouth, or transporting bacteria which causes infections.

Please find attached some documents with ideas of how to support your child to let go of their dummy. If you would like further support please speak to one of our school SENDCos.
