Igo card applications and summer drop-in sessions
If you’re 11-16 years old, you’ll need an igo card to travel using child tickets on buses and trams in Greater Manchester. It can take up to two weeks to process your igo card application, so make sure you apply in plenty of time for the start of the new term.
The Bee Network team is hand to help at five pop-up stalls at interchanges across Greater Manchester this summer. Simply drop by between 10am – 2pm to speak to staff and get your application in early:
- Tuesday 29 July: Bolton Interchange
- Tuesday 5 August: Bury Interchange
- Tuesday 12 August: Shudehill Interchange
- Tuesday 19 August: Stockport Interchange
- Tuesday 26 August: Altrincham Interchange
Make sure you bring:
- A passport-sized colour photo of the child that’s applying.
- Proof of name and age of the child applying: a copy of your birth certificate, adoption certificate, medical card, passport or EU/EEA card. Please do not bring original documents.
- Payment (for the £10 fee).
You can also apply for an igo card by post or at a Bee Network Information and Ticket Office. Visit beenetwork.com/igo for more information.
Get on board for Big Days Out this summer
Make the most of your school summer holidays and get on board for big days out across Greater Manchester. Whether it’s parks, museums, festivals or food, family bus tickets and family tram tickets are the best value and coolest way to travel.
TravelSafe this summer
This summer you’ll probably want to hang out with your mates. That could mean travelling together on buses and trams or using bus stations and tram stops.
TravelSafe Officers patrol buses, trams and interchanges to keep everyone safe and offer help if you need it.
Remember, it’s fine to have fun. But it’s also important you don’t do things that might make other people using buses or trams feel uncomfortable.
You can get advice and tips for you and your friends at tfgm.com/schools.
