To parents/carers and children,
Welcome to 5HJ!
Hello 5HJ! Welcome to Year 5!
I hope you are all ready to start the brand new school year! We hope you’ve all had a lovely, restful break and we can’t wait to get started with some fantastic learning over the Autumn term.
Here is some useful information to help you get settled back into school life.
Please have a look through our year group's newsletter which I have attached on here which has relevant information about what is going on in school this half term.
Important information:
Trips: We have planned a few exciting trips throughout the year so please keep a look out for newsletters which will have all the relevant information on there.
Homework: Homework will be handed out on a Thursday and due back the following Tuesday. If your child is finding the homework difficult, please ask them to speak to myself or Miss Smith before it is due in so we can help support them. We would appreciate your support a. nd encouragement with this too.
PE: PE - swimming will be every Monday. Please ensure that your child comes to school with their swimming kit.
Topics we will be covering this half term are:
Literacy: biographies, diary entries and balanced arguments.
Numeracy: Fractions, multiplication and division.
Science: Properties and changes of Materials
