Peace Mala

As a school, we celebrate the diversity of faiths, cultures and lifestyles, this has been further developed since our Peace Mala journey began back in 2012. We continue to enjoy our Peace Mala celebrations and were extremely proud to achieve the Peace Mala accreditation in July 2013 and re-accreditation in October 2016. We have now achieved the third level of Peace Mala accreditation and have been awarded Gold status for our dedication and outstanding Peace Mala work as a school.  We believe that being part of the Peace Mala community has allowed us to help aid our children in becoming better local and global citizens. We look forward to continuing our work for many, many years to come and look forward to the different opportunities our continued work will help us achieve.

At Newall Green Primary School we aim for our pupils to become independent learners, motivated by their natural curiosity about the world in which they live in. We want them to enjoy life and be happy and aim to achieve this through the teaching of our 7 peace commitments:

We believe that our pupils have the right to learn in a safe environment and believe they should feel and be safe at all times. To enable this to happen we work together with all members of the school community, children, staff, parents/carers and governors to promote our peace mala Golden Rule;

‘To treat others as you would wish them to treat you!’

Our Mission Statement...

At Newall Green Primary School, we are a Peace Mala and Rights Respecting School. We provide an environment where the children feel happy, safe and ready to learn.
We use the five key skills for life; problem solving, teamwork, self-management (initiative, organisation, accountability), self-belief (confidence, resilience, positive attitude), and communication, so we are ‘Aiming High to Reach Our Goals’.
